Principal
Paul Towell is recognized as a thought leader in innovative financing techniques for the senior living industry, and he formed Hamlin Capital Advisors in 2012 as a Principal. Paul has more than 25 years of experience working with long-term care communities and not-for-profit hospitals. During his career, he has completed more than $2 billion in investment banking transactions and closed over $1 billion in commercial loans and letters of credits for not-for profit healthcare providers. Many of his long-term care and hospital clients achieved investment grade ratings for the first time with his assistance.
Before joining Hamlin Capital Advisors, Paul spent eight years with Raymond James, where he secured financing for numerous senior living institutions, including the first-ever drawdown of fixed-rate bonds for a start-up continuing care retirement community, drawdown bonds for the repositioning of an existing campus, foreclosure/acquisition of a distressed senior living provider, financing for several start-up rental facilities, affinity-based assisted living facilities and skilled nursing financings.
Prior to his time at Raymond James, Paul spent 18 years at Bank of America N.A. and Bank of America Securities LLC, where he was the manager of the Mid-Atlantic Commercial Healthcare Group and a Managing Director in the healthcare public finance group. During that period, Paul completed numerous financings and organized and maintained the bank loan underwriting guidelines for not-for-profit hospitals and long-term care providers.
Paul graduated from Hofstra University with a B.B.A. in marketing.
